Turkmenistan Gas Reserve
and Deliverability Study

Project Duration: June-August, 1994
Client: The Government of Turkmenistan
Project Type: Proved Developed and Proved Undeveloped Reserve and Deliverability Analysis
Value of Evaluated Assets: 13 TCF of natural gas. Includes 1.3 TCF of original reserve calculations and 11.7 TCF of audited reserves.
Project Description: Wavetech was a member of a consortium of companies assigned the task by the Turkmenistan Government of undertaking a pre-feasibility study of a natural gas export pipeline to Turkey. Wavetech’s particular assignment was to audit and calculate the reserves of several major proven producing gas fields in the western portion of Turkmenistan and to calculate the deliverability of the fields given a particular level of investment.

Historical production data was matched with well tests and other applicable reservoir data to calculate deliverability. Reserves for

one major field group were calculated from the ground up. The remaining fields were subjected to an audit process which in many cases, due to outdated calculation, involved a complete recalculation of the reserves by volumetric and material balance methods.
